It’s Business as Usual Thanks to Fast Hire Solution

Large Hampshire Based Business Centre

The Challenge –

Failing Comfort Cooling System

The Solution –

Long-Term Chiller Hire

With a legacy glycol Chiller system already struggling to meet the comfort cooling requirements of the business centre it served, a seasonal increase in ambient temperature was the final straw. Whilst maintenance contractors hurriedly called in portable air conditioning units from a local supplier, it soon became clear that a longer-term solution was needed – and quickly.

The Hampshire based centre houses several businesses and their employees, providing office space, training rooms and associated services. With summer just around the corner and temperatures already rising, office workers were quickly becoming uncomfortable and business owners were becoming increasingly concerned that productivity would begin to suffer.

With just one phone call, Aqua Cooling sent an engineer to site to carry out a same day survey, aware that time was of the essence. Senior Design & Project Manager, Shaun Lancaster, explains: “Once on site it quickly became apparent that portable units just weren’t going to provide an efficient solution. The legacy chiller unit was the real cause of the problem, by addressing the issue at source it was going to be relatively straightforward to get an effective comfort cooling system back up and running.”

The existing chiller was supplying air conditioning to 3 floors of the 5-storey business centre. By replacing this unit with a 280kW Chiller Hire unit and flexible hosing the buildings’ air conditioning was quickly restored.

The solution from Aqua Cooling Hire included:

  • 280kW chiller + hosing on a 2-year hire basis
  • Same day site survey
  • Equipment specification, design & installation, including contracted crane lift to the top of a 5-storey building, in a busy city centre location
  • Fast turnaround – from enquiry to installation in just one week

By opting for the 2-year hire option, the business centre now has peace of mind whilst they look at options for replacing the glycol based air conditioning system. In the meantime, for the office workers and the companies sharing the business centre, it’s business as usual!

who cares

Who Cares? Aqua Hire Do!

When a national charity for young people in care found its Christmas party would be without Heating, temperature control specialists Aqua Cooling stepped in to help.

Who Cares? Scotland is a charity that provides independent support to young people in care and Care Leavers. Each year it hosts a Christmas Day gathering for the young people it works with to make sure no one has to be alone during the festive season.

The problem the charity faced in December was that its venue did not have adequate heating and all the companies they called quoted them enormous costs to heat the space. That was until they contacted Aqua Cooling’s hire division which offered to supply four of its infrared electric heaters to the venue free of charge.

James Fry who heads up Aqua’s hire division, said: “It’s awful to think that young people could be alone at such a time of year if they didn’t have somewhere warm to meet. I know they had been in touch with other companies and the costs had been really high, so it seemed a nice thing to do to supply and deliver our heaters free of charge.”

Heaters are just a small part of a range of cooling and Heater Hire equipment available from Aqua Cooling Hire. Their hire fleet also includes boilers, chillers, air conditioning units and ancillaries. The minimum hire period is just one week and equipment can be delivered and installed nationwide.

The National Trust, Ham House

The Challenge –

Boiler Failure

The Solution –

Short-Term Boiler Hire

Ham House is a historic National Trust property situated near Richmond, London. Originally built in 1610 and situated besides the River Thames, the house is described as “unique in Europe as the most complete survival of 17th century fashion and power.” Designated by Historic England as a listed, Grade 1 building, the building’ gardens and park are listed at Grade II.

When Ham House’s Boiler failed during the winter months an alternative heating source needed to be located and installed as quickly as possible. Aqua Heating Hire were contacted by the mechanical and electrical contractor responsible for maintaining the property and a site visit was arranged.

Once on site an engineer ascertained the most efficient and cost effective temporary solution, with the aim of getting the heating reinstated to Ham House as quickly as possible.

Aqua Heating Hire supplied a 250kW Hire Boiler for an initial 12 week hire period. There was an option for the hire to be easily extended should it take longer than anticipated to get the main boiler system back up and running. The Aqua team delivered and installed the boiler within days to ensure Ham House, it’s staff and visitors were feeling the heat again – quite literally!
